SMARTPAY - MOBILE PAYMENT APP FOR THE POINT OF SALE IN STORES OF SATURN
MISSION

Mobile payment is now widespread and has arrived in the middle of society. Due to this acceptance, we are testing new use cases in relation to direct payment at the point of sale.
Everyone knows the annoying problem of long queues at the checkout. That’s why we have come up with a concept to offer our customers an even better and, above all, more convenient shopping experience.
CONCEPT

The concept allows customers to pay for their items directly on the sales floor without having to queue at the checkout. All they need is the Saturn „Smartpay“ app.
The user registers with their e-mail address, selects the preferred payment method and pays for the product. As soon as the product has been paid, the articles anti-theft device can be removed and the customer can leave the store.
APP CONCEPT & RAPITAG

The app concept includes a detailed instruction in which the user is explained in a few steps how the app works and what he has to consider when using it. The user is able to scan products in the store via the barcode or use the NFC function of the smartphone to get information about the product directly from our ESL price tags. If the customer develops an interest in buying the product based on the information offered to him, he can pay for it directly via the Smartpay app. Successful payment triggers a mechanism on the anti-theft device from the company rapitag via Bluetooth that unlocks it. The customer can now remove the anti-theft device and leave the shop without having to queue at a checkout or buy more items. A digital receipt is sent directly to the customer by email when the purchase is completed and the customer finds a confirmation of the purchase under „My Purchases“ in their app. In this way, the staff in the store can also directly ensure that this item was really purchased by this customer.
